The Sharp Sobolev Inequality in Quantitative Form
A quantitative version of the sharp Sobolev inequality in W (R), 1 < p < n, is established with a remainder term involving the distance from extremals.
متن کاملSharp Stability Theorems for the Anisotropic Sobolev and Log-sobolev Inequalities on Functions of Bounded Variation
Combining rearrangement techniques with Gromov’s proof (via optimal mass transportation) of the 1-Sobolev inequality, we prove a sharp quantitative version of the anisotropic Sobolev inequality on BV (R). As a corollary of this result, we also deduce a sharp stability estimate for the anisotropic 1-log-Sobolev inequality.
متن کاملTrace Theorems for Sobolev Spaces of Variable Order ofDi erentiationBy
We prove a trace theorem and an extension theorem for Sobolev spaces of variable order of diierentiation which are deened by pseudodiierential operators.
متن کاملSharp Sobolev Trace Inequalities on Riemannian Manifolds with Boundaries
In this paper, we establish some sharp Sobolev trace inequalities on n-dimensional, compact Riemannian manifolds with smooth boundaries. More specifically, let q = 2(n− 1)/(n− 2) , 1 S = inf {∫ R n + |∇u| : ∇u ∈ L(R+) , ∫ ∂R+ |u| = 1 } . We establish for any Riemannian manifold with a smooth boundary, denoted as (M,g), that there exists some constant A = A(M,g) > 0, ( ∫ ∂M |u| dsg) ≤ S ∫ M |∇gu...
متن کاملTrace Theorems for Sobolev Spaces on Lipschitz Domains. Necessary Conditions
A famous theorem of E. Gagliardo gives the characterization of traces for Sobolev spaces W 1, p (Ω) for 1 ≤ p < ∞ when Ω ⊂ R is a Lipschitz domain. The extension of this result to W m, p (Ω) for m ≥ 2 and 1 < p < ∞ is now well-known when Ω is a smooth domain. The situation is more complicated for polygonal and polyhedral domains since the characterization is given only in terms of local compati...
